"One spring day, during the renovational period of Marina Piccola 73, I was so tired that I took a mattress on the terrace and laid down to have a rest: I fell asleep in the sun, lulled by the rhythm of the waves crashing on the beach. I woke up surprised by the typical sounds of the port of Sorrento that had been unknown to me: the anchors were being raised and thrown from recreational boats, seagulls fluttered and followed the vessels out at sea, and the last tourists were getting off the ferry that had brought them to the discovery of Capri, Ischia and Naples. The sunset was meeting the high tide with the dozing Vesuvius on the horizon. It was full harmony. I experience the peace of that afternoon every time I go out on the terrace: the magic of life that flows following the rhythm of the sea is repeated every day and sharing it with my guests is joy for me." |

Between sea and tuff The story of the building of Marina Piccola 73 is intertwined with the one of the village which has developed around the port of Sorrento. The palace was built near the tuff cliffs in the 800’s by the Fiorentinos, a traditional family of dedicated hoteliers. After the war, the building hosted the Yachting Club until 2007, after which a part has been renovated and converted into a B&B. In 2013 the renovations of both the facade and the interiors were completed. In this case as well, the link with the village could be noticed: the restorational works on the building, in fact, led to the recovery of the port: the beach was restored , the village was revitalized and now it hosts musical and cultural events. The renovation of Marina Piccola 73 was deliberately non-invasive: we wanted to keep the original architecture of Bourbon inspiration, which blends in with the coast and retains its romance. We have preserved the historical value and beauty of the terracotta driveway (opus signinum – recycled earthenware) leading to Reception, which dates back to Roman times: we wanted to keep it to its original state to give our guests the chance to experience what Romans must have felt when walking on the path, which was not always very easy. The renovation of the tower has recently been completed. | ![]() |
